Jay Nelson represents clients in the criminal legal system.  He specializes in direct appeals and post-conviction collateral attacks, principally in federal court.  

Jay’s experience covers a diverse range of criminal allegations.  It also includes all phases of a case: from commencement, though trial, and beyond.  Jay maintains a small caseload to permit nuanced, creative, and forceful advocacy on behalf of every client.

Jay has accepted representations throughout the western United States.  He is licensed in Oregon, California, and federal courts.
